Senior Systems Engineer – Datacentre – Milton Keynes

We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Systems Engineer within our client's data centre in Milton Keynes. This role is directly responsible for monitoring the infrastructure, maintaining operational/service levels, and assisting with planning the roadmap for projects related to our IT infrastructure. You will be hands on, with knowledge and experience in the following areas…   Key Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring smooth running of the global server and network environments Oversee and coordinate, maintenance and support of the server, storage and networking equipment, and action where needed Be the escalation point and senior technical resource for any systems related issues and projects Perform on-site and remote technical support and system administration of various server architecture, and networking architecture Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various projects to include servers, network equipment, and software applications. Ideally with the following skillset: Minimum 4 years in a similar role, with minimum of 2 years as a senior resource or team leader Experience working with server and storage hardware (rack mount servers, SAN, direct attached storage, etc) Networking skills in administering and maintaining switches, routers and firewalls Deep understanding of switching and routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, RIP, OSPF, GLBP, HSRP, etc) Windows Server administration (2012R2 and later) Linux operating system administration Active Directory configuration and administration Exchange Server administration Hyper-V, VMware and KVM administration SQL Server installation and configuration Exposure to AWS a distinct advantage Salary on offer up to £55k plus package with free onsite parking in Milton Keynes. Lead iOS Developer - Remote Working 99%

iOS Developer (objective-c and swift) with product development experience who enjoys working remotely is required by a rapidly expanding start up software company within the healthcare industry. Driven purely by its success in the market, we are now in the process of assisting with their engineering expansion to support the growth rate and plans to expand overseas. The engineering team are focussed on developing a scalable based architecture for the new server platform. This will require an experienced iOS mobile developer with strong Objective-C and Swift expertise. The focus is quality working software. To ensure quality, engineers develop unit tests with independent automated testing being used for integration and to end testing. My client has adopted an agile development approach based on Scrum. User Stories are defined by the Product Management team and used to drive the development of the product. Sprints are used to timebox development and ensure regular delivery to the business. A detailed sprint planning session is used to identify the work needed to deliver each user story. Daily stand-ups are used to track progress and ensure blocking issues are handled rapidly. A retrospective is held at the end of each sprint to identify what worked, what didn't and how to improve. Product Management uses Show & Tell sessions to show progress to the business and illicit early feedback. My client's HQ is central London based however, the engineering team is distributed. With a completely flexible approach, engineers work from their UK home full-time with approximately one visit to the office every 3 weeks.
