A Senior Java Software Engineering Manager who has grown out of a hands-on full-stack development background, with deep experience in Java and strong exposure to Azure is required by my expanding health-tech client. This is a senior leadership role, but it's not a step away from technology — we want someone who still enjoys getting close to architecture, code quality, and technical decision-making.   You'll lead a team of high-performing engineers, set technical direction, and ensure my client is building scalable, secure, and well-designed software that delivers real value.   You will - Lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams. Set and own the engineering strategy, architecture, and technical standards. Stay close to the code: reviewing designs, guiding implementation, and unblocking complex technical challenges. Drive best practices around CI/CD, testing, security, and cloud-native development. Partner with Product, Architecture, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Shape our use of Azure and modern cloud services to support scale and reliability. Have a strong hands-on background in full-stack development, with Java as a core language, with solid experience building and running systems on Azure (or similar cloud platforms). We're seeking an experienced DevOps Auditor to support a UK healthcare client with an audit of their CI/CD, infrastructure, and operational controls. This short engagement (approx. 7 days) will deliver a compliance‑ready assessment, gap analysis, and remediation roadmap, laying the foundation for a potential longer-term 12‑month engagement to implement improvements. Key Responsibilities Review current‑state AWS DevOps practices across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform/Bicep), secrets management, and release/change controls. Capture and assess evidence such as pipeline logs, approvals, artefact integrity/signing, access controls, and configuration baselines. Validate security posture via SAST/DAST scans, dependency and licence reviews, container/image policies, and supply‑chain controls. Evaluate logging, monitoring, and observability practices. Map findings to compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, or NHS DSPT where applicable). Produce a comprehensive gap analysis, risk register (with severity and likelihood ratings), and prioritised remediation backlog. Define minimum DevOps guardrails for the next delivery phase (e.g., mandatory checks, branch protection, promotion criteria). We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help shape and deliver modern, user-centred digital platforms. Working a hybrid model (2 days in the office, 3 from home) for a company based in central Milton Keynes you'll provide technical leadership across the full delivery lifecycle, designing secure, scalable and accessible solutions that balance business needs, regulation and best practice. Working in a design-led, cloud-first environment, you'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, UX and delivery partners to ensure architectural integrity from concept to go-live.   You will - Design scalable, API-first, cloud-native digital solutions (Azure). Lead architectural design and assurance across delivery teams. Champion accessibility, sustainability and inclusive design (WCAG). Guide teams on DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and SaaS platforms. Provide technical oversight, governance and vendor assurance. Promote reuse, low-code/no-code solutions and reduction of technical debt.   You must have - Extensive experience designing and delivering digital platforms. Hands-on experience with Sitecore or similar CMS platforms. Proven expertise in secure, cloud-native and API-led architectures. Experience working in agile, multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor teams. Understanding of digital engagement tools (analytics, consent, personalisation). Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the Strategic Outline Case (SOC) and Outline Business Case (OBC), defining technology options, integration approaches, and data strategy within the client's wider digital landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead architectural discovery activities across the SOC and OBC phases. Develop high-level and target-state solution options aligned with NHS digital standards and integration requirements. Assess current systems, data flows, and technical constraints to inform strategic recommendations. Collaborate with programme leadership, business analysts, and technical teams to ensure business and technology alignment. This role is inside IR35 and offers a mainly remote working arrangement, with occasional client collaboration days as required. The Opportunity You'll play a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and evolving a cutting‑edge SaaS product built from the ground up—guided by a proven MVP and informed by industry best practice. Background or familiarity with Bill of Quantities, Bill of Materials, BIM models, or construction‑related estimation tools is a strong advantage. A high‑quality degree or equivalent experience, with the ability to operate confidently at senior stakeholder level.
