Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences. Cloud: Familiar with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their security features. Questionnaires: Experience writing and responding to security questionnaires and compliance documents. Training: Confident in delivering security awareness training to groups. SQL Database Engineer Azure Datawarehouse We are seeking an experienced MS SQL (Azure and T-SQL) Engineer/DBA to join our clients growing development team. Outside of IR35 fully remote and paying in the region of £350-400pd. This role will involve evaluating and improving the existing database design. Improving the database performance and optimising any SQL views and stored procedures. Maintaining the SQL database and providing support to the engineering teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the data management strategy, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions. Working once a month in the office you will be a key member of their IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimising mission-critical SQL Server environments. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of database management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure the highest levels of availability and performance. You will have - 3+ years+ experience as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment. Strong expertise in SQL Server architecture, administration, and best practices. Hands-on experience with SQL Server high availability solutions, including clustering, replication, and Always On. Advanced knowledge of T-SQL for query optimisation and troubleshooting. Experience with database backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and strategies. Solid understanding of performance tuning methodologies, indexing strategies, and execution plans. Ensuring there is appropriate processes in-place (e.g. for escalation, risk management).
