Network and Infrastructure Engineer required on a fixed term 12-month contract basis and paying in the region of £60k including all the benefits of a permanent employee, 2 days per week onsite in Milton Keynes with the rest hybrid from home. Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

A Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is immediately required by my successful, prestigious client based in central Milton Keynes. Working a hybrid model you'll be involved in designing, building, testing, and implementing cloud services, networks, servers, storage solutions, and more. You'll also handle incidents and requests through their IT service management system. Key responsibilities will include: Maintain, support, and enhance IT infrastructure for maximum system availability. Provide expertise in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, storage area network (PURE), Windows Server, VMWare, and more. Handle incidents, requests, and changes using ServiceNow in line with ITIL processes. Mentor other Infrastructure and Help Desk staff. Perform regular patching and updates to desktop and server estate. Participate in out-of-hours work and occasional travel to other offices. The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will be expected to boast - Proven experience in a third-line role within an enterprise IT infrastructure. We're looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer to "work on the platform" and products for our leading customer in a commercial environment. Fully remote and outside of IR35. You will work closely with the Java engineering lead and technical support teams to resolve issues and maintain a high quality of service to our customers ensuring change of the technology and platform is adhered in terms of best practice. Essential Skills 4 years+ experience in an operational role with a cloud platform Azure Experience, as well as a solid IaC background with extensive Terraform. You will have been working with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Microsoft Azure with knowledge of cloud-native services (Azure DNS, Application Gateway, Azure SQL Server, App Services, Blob Storage, Load Balancer, WAF) and best-practices for working with technology; Excellent understanding of networking principles (IP Addressing, virtual networks, network security and networking models) Understanding of observability and site-reliability principles (SLO's, SLI's) and working with engineering teams to improve the applications and platform; Good understanding of Scripting languages for automating manual tasks (eg Powershell, additional experience with Python would desirable); Good understanding of SQL and working with relational databases; 3 months with the possibility to extend but no guarantee.
