Head Of Java Engineering Work From Home.

Head of Java Engineering who can boast an impressive background of managing technical teams (30+), was a former engineer at heart (Java expertise) and is currently working with teams on both architecture and design. This is a for a huge enhancement and migration programme within the healthcare space.

Working closely with the CTO, as Head of Java Engineering you will be responsible for:

• Platform stability to ensure quality is built into every stage of the development process. 
• Technology Strategy and Architecture - Build a technology roadmap that comprises of stream for Java platform and applications.
• Evaluate technical support and the communication paths with the rest of the organisation - development and test predominantly. 
• Day to Day Operational Support / Change Management
• Work with a team of contractors (35-40 in total) on ways of working and best-practices in terms of development, operations and support working together effectively to develop, test and release.
• Improve the release processes

The technology stack for the platform is as follows:

• Azure integration;
• SQL Server Database; Stored procedures and triggers
• Java 8, Google Web Toolkit and Java Enterprise Edition, Maven for the main application;
• Spring Boot, Dropwizard services;
• New Relic, Jenkins, Octopus, Nexus;
• Jira, Confluence.

This is fully remote and outside of IR35. Project to kickstart within 2-4 weeks.
